Carol Dronsfield is a Brooklyn, New York-based photographer specializing in portraits that capture the true individuality of her subjects.

Using natural light, intriguing backgrounds and evocative props, Carol works to create images that reveal more about her subject than a typical “headshot” could. Thus, the Unheadshot Headshot.

Carol has photographed authors, actors, musicians, entrepreneurs, technologists, bankers, doctors, and fashion designers, as well as innumerable strangers she meets on the streets of New York City and in her travels.

Carol began her career as a designer/art director in New York, gradually transitioning to photography as a fulltime pursuit. Her recent work centers on street photography, seeking out the humanity of her subjects against the often harsh background of their urban surroundings. Carol’s work has been exhibited at the International Center Of Photography (ICP), Women Street Photographers Exhibitions, BWAC Gallery Brooklyn, and Artsy. Her ongoing study of the beach and boardwalk culture of Coney Island has been featured repeatedly on The Pictorial List.
